“The 18th International Postgraduates Symposium on Chinese Medicine (IPSCM)” was held on 12 August 2022, at 2-5pm, at N101B, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. It was a Live and webcast simultaneously symposium, with a total of 370 participants. . This Symposium is a sub-session of the International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products (ICMCM), organized by the “Modernized Chinese Medicine International Association (MCMIA)”, and jointly co-organized by The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University , The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the City University of Hong Kong, together with the University of Macau, Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. The Symposium Book (see appendix) included a total of 94 research abstracts, a total of 76 poster presentations, and 10 students gave oral speeches to share their research progress and results. IPSCM provides a good platform for postgraduates engaged in Chinese medicine research to communicate with each other about their research advance, to enhance their communication and presentation skills, and to broaden their horizons in Chinese medicine and beyond.
This Symposium invited Dr. Chen Haiyong from the University of Hong Kong, Dr. Xian Yanfang from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Dr. Kwan Xiaoyi from Hong Kong Baptist University, Dr. Zhou Hongyi from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Dr. Leung Ka-wing from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as judges. Dr Ata Ullah from City University scored the poster presentation online. A total of 10 winners of the “Tianjiang Cup Li Shizhen Youth Outstanding Thesis Award” were selected by the comprehensive judges. They are: Chan Yau Tuen and Lu Yuanjun from the University of Hong Kong, Huang Qionghui and Yang Huihai from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Baptist University. Li Sze Man and Guo Xuanming, Dusadee and Cheng Hok Chi from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Liu Mengfan and Dai Rongchen from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The convener of IPSCM, Professor Feng Yibin, Dean of the School of Chinese Medicine of the University of Hong Kong, presented trophies and certificates to the winning students, and made a closing speech for the Symposium. Mr. Harry Yeung, Chairman of MCMIA Foundation, gave a closing speech for this year’s ICMCM.
